Multiply the impact of your pro-family giving
The Pro-Family Charitable Trust
Serving the pro-family movement
Provides funding grants for pro-family projects
from the income earned on a constantly growing pool of donated money
which is carefully invested to maximize income
while the principal is permanently restricted from being spent
so that your donation keeps on giving in perpetuity
|
|
How does it work?
|
- You the donor make a tax-deductible gift to Abiding Truth Ministries, designated for the PFCT.
- Your donation is deposited into the PFCT account, which is conservatively invested in stocks, bonds, and other income-earning financial vehicles.
- Each month, 90% of the PFCT earnings are transferred to a grant-making account. (The remaining 10% converts to principal and becomes permanently restricted).
- Pro-family activists and organizations apply for grants to help fund projects designed to advance the pro-family agenda in a local community.
- ATM's board meets regularly to review the grant applications and disburse funds to those whose projects are approved.
- ATM then reports back to you (in our newsletter) on the results of the funded projects, inspiring you to donate additional funds to grow the PFCT principal (and in turn grow the income available for grants).

Why should I give to the PFCT?
|
By pooling your charitable gifts with others in the PFCT, you multiply your giving power exponentially.
The PFCT is like a financial perpetual-motion machine. Due to the permanent restriction on its principal, and the phenomenon of compounding, the PFCT is virtually guaranteed to grow over time. Add to this the fact that the PFCT principal also grows through continuous fundraising, and you can see the incredible potential of this simple idea. Year after year, the growing pool of PFCT principal will produce more and more income for grants.
PFCT donors are visionaries who deserve to be recognized for their foresight. We therefore rank our donors by their seniority. Each donor who gives $100 or more receives the title of PFCT Founder and a numbered Founder certificate. Founders receive a life-time subscription to the PFCT newsletter, and special consideration is given for any nominees they put forward for PFCT grants.
As donors increase their contributions to the PFCT principal, they qualify for successively more exclusive Founder status. Each Founder level has its own certificate and seniority ranking. Donors of $250 or more become Cornerstone Founders. At $1,000 they become Silver Cornerstone Founders. At $5,000 they become Golden Cornerstone Founders, and so on. Donations are cumulative, so regular donors will automatically earn higher Founder status over time. At every level, having a low certificate number is a badge of honor.

Who can receive a PFCT grant?
|
Grants are awarded with the goal of promoting pro-family activism or advancing the pro-family agenda in a local community. Thus, anyone who shares these goals and shows reasonable promise of advancing them through a specific project or program may qualify for a grant. The ATM board has sole and exclusive discretion as to who shall receive a PFCT grant but considers the opinions of the Founders as measured through surveys and other forms of communication.
Grant recipients must be, or be sponsored by a qualified tax-exempt organization and must account for how the funds are used.

What do we mean by "pro-family"?
|
We believe that the natural family was created by God to be the starting place and model for all human relationships. The natural family is one man and one woman and their children by birth or adoption, or the surviving remnant thereof. Marriage is God's institution to protect the natural family from forces such as promiscuity which would otherwise destroy it. To be pro-family is to actively promote and protect the natural family as the foundation of human society and culture.
|
|
What types of projects does the PFCT fund?
|
PFCT grants are used to promote grassroots pro-family activism, and thus priority is given to projects which show promise not only to accomplish a specific goal, but to inspire others to become more active in the local community. One project approved for funding by the ATM board is a national effort to organize conservative student clubs in public high schools. The young leaders of this project are dedicated to opposing political-correctness on high-school campuses and have already formed student groups in several states.

Fundraising programs
|
|
Fundraising is the key to success for the PFCT. The more we raise in principal, the more we can award in grants, and the greater will be our impact on the culture. Therefore, in addition to traditional fundraising such as direct mailings, we try to integrate a fundraising component into our grant-making programs. For example, we ask our grant recipients to send PFCT promotional materials to their donors, or to allow us to present their grant award at their annual banquet or other function where our materials can be made available to the guests.
