Author's Note

There are two types of readers in this world: those who like their reading material simple and to the point and those who want lots of documentation. This book attempts to accommodate both types. Our observations and advice to parents are provided in a straightforward, informal style on the right-hand pages. Our documentation and illustrations are provided on the left-hand pages, roughly parallel to the assertions they support. We believe that our readers will find this format helpful and "user friendly."

A Tough Approach for a Tough Subject

This book takes a "tough love" approach to homosexuality. Because we care about our "gay" friends and neighbors, we decline to affirm their unhappy and destructive lifestyle. We also care deeply about our children's health and happiness and for this reason we speak frankly and unapologetically in this book about homosexuality and the "gay" movement. Some will call this book hateful, but it is not motivated by hate, but by love, love that is tough enough to endure being misunderstood and maligned by the very people it seeks to help, love that rejects the easy path of condoning others' harmful choices simply to avoid personal discomfort.

The primary goal of this book is to help parents protect their children, but it will serve an even greater purpose if it also inspires in its readers an attitude of "tough love" that can help those already trapped in the "gay" lifestyle to escape.
